Last summer on vacation I spent several days just plinking on guitar - my first chance in ages - and it seems every time I sat down for a few minutes I came up with some new and beautiful snippet or phrase or groove.  This continued for the next few weeks until I got busy again.

And I got thinking - creativity is ready to show up any time we give it opportunity. It’s like that old saying, “If God seems far away, guess who moved.” I was just out of touch with creativity because we hadn’t spent any time together.

So this year, I’m going to improv something every day. Fresh ideas, thought up live as I play. Mistakes that lead to innovations. Small ideas that develop and grow wherever they’ll take me.
